About the Journal

Overview and history:

The Libyan Journal of Surgery is the official online peer-reviewed surgical journal of the International Health Academy (IHA).  The journal was founded in February 2012 with the aim to fill the local and regional publication gap in surgical specialities.

The  journal publishes original scientific  articles (clinical and experimental), review articles, randomized clinical trials, innovations and descriptions of surgical techniques, case reports and editorial letters within the field of general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, colorectal surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, endocrine surgery, oncological surgery, paediatric surgery, vascular surgery, video-assisted surgery and intensive surgical care. Editorials, review articles and book reviews are published on invitation from the Editors.

The journal publishes English and Arabic articles. Upon publishing English articles, an Arabic abstract is mandatory and vice versa. The journal does not perform linguistic revisions and submissions that do not comply with the journal format or are considered out of scope will be returned to the authors before initiating the review process.

We have faced serious challenges during the past years. During this year (2019), we have worked hard to overcome all of the obstacles. We have appointed a professional publishing manager. We e have updated the OJS version to the latest, we have added new enthusiastic editors to the editorial board.

We promise a quick revision and upon acceptance a quick publication.

The journal welcomes articles related to surgery from all parts of the world

Scope and Aims:

The aim of the journal is to promote clinical progress, research and the exchange of research information within the whole field of general surgery.
