Renal angiomyolipoma usually present as incidental findings on routine imaging, but rarely may they give rise to significant haemorrhage. If bleeding occurs, first-line treatment is currently angiography with selective embolization. Prophylactic embolization may be considered in some cases, depending on the lesion size and patient co-morbidities. We report a case of 39 year old lady who presented with sudden onset of right sided abdominal swelling and pain which was later found to be caused by a large renal angiomyolipoma. Selective embolization of the lesion was performed with good subsequent outcome.
